About DMSTI

Dolakha Multi-Sectoral Training Institute (DMSTI), established in 1997, is a private technical school, affiliated to the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) and the National Centre for Educational Development (NCED). The Institute provides both technical and further education in a variety of sectors, medical, electrical and education. It is located in Charikot, the district headquarters of Dolakha.

Training programmes currently running are; Community Medical Assistant (CMA), Electrical Sub-Overseer, Junior Electrical Technician (JET) and a pre-service Primary Teacher Training Programme (PTTP).

The Institute aims to supply well-trained graduates ready to work in the field. To date 323 students have successfully completed the CMA course since 1997, a pass rate of 92%. The electrical courses are providing professional services to the building and industrial sectors and the teaching programme supplies newly-qualified young teachers to fill vacancies in primary schools.

This supply of manpower helps to satisfy vital needs in the community, often in remote and impoverished areas. All courses are taught by qualified, experienced teachers and include theory, practical work and on-the-job training in order to prepare the students fully for employment.
